About the Role
The Physical Therapist is responsible for the evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning of all patients referred for their services. This role is integral to assisting patients in achieving their highest level of function and upholding the mission, vision, and values of Jefferson Health. The Therapist works in conjunction with other healthcare professionals to coordinate treatment plans and care.
Responsibilities
- Provide therapy evaluations, treatment planning, treatment interventions, and discharge planning for a full patient caseload in acute care, skilled facility, acute rehab, and outpatient settings.
- Participate in student education, including part-time (e.g., ICE, OT level 1) or full-time student supervision.
- Engage in education and teaching commensurate with novice clinicians.
- Plan, organize, and deliver treatment programs to help clients/patients recover and rehabilitate.
- Utilize tools and techniques to administer safe therapeutic interventions and training for patients and families.
- Record and document clients'/patients' health progress, including daily treatments, progress notes, evaluations, and discharge summaries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
- 0-2 years of clinical practice required; 1 year preferred.
- Valid PA state license in Physical Therapy.
- BLS and CPR certification required via AHA.
