About the role
A physical therapist at Sentara Outpatient Therapy Center - Healthy Way will assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve functional mobility, relieve pain, and improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury. They will provide age-appropriate education for clients and caregivers, supervise, and assume responsibility for care provided by identified team members.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and implement rehabilitative programs for patients with pelvic floor disorders and orthopedic conditions.
- Mentor new therapists and contribute to the growth of the team.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and execute treatment plans.
- Provide patient education and support to enhance recovery and independence.
- Document patient progress and communicate effectively with referring physicians and other healthcare providers.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
- Current VA Physical Therapy license.
- BLS certification.
Qualifications
- Experience in pelvic floor therapy preferred but not required.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
Skills
- Proficiency with Surface EMG and Rehabilitation Ultrasound equipment.
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
