About the role
The Physical Therapist (PT) at The Children's Institute assists patients in reaching their maximum functional potential through personalized therapy services. Services are provided for infants through young adults, focusing on treating physical injuries, orthopedic conditions, and medical complexities.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates patients' functional abilities and disabilities using objective tests and standardized assessment tools.
- Identifies measurable functional goals and collaborates with patients and families to develop a treatment plan.
- Administers necessary procedures to deliver therapy services and adjusts treatment goals and interventions based on objective data.
- Affirms the frequency and duration of therapy sessions to optimize benefits and consider clinical and financial factors.
- Plans for discharge during treatment and initiates discharge when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree with a PA license, Master's Degree with PA license, or DPT with a PA license.
- One year of experience with a pediatric population.
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to move children and equipment weighing 10-50 pounds.
- Ability to transition between sitting, standing, kneeling, and squatting positions.
- Ability to squat, kneel, walk up and down stairs, and carry equipment.
- Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification required.
- Required clearances: Act 33/34, FBI clearance.
