Physical Therapist - Outpatient Orthopedics

Role Overview

This position involves providing comprehensive physical therapy services to patients, including evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation in various settings. The therapist collaborates with the healthcare team, participates in program development, and ensures patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations by reviewing history, performing assessments, and documenting findings; communicate results and involve patients and families in goal setting.
• Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation results, monitor patient progress, and modify plans as needed; consult with other healthcare professionals.
• Manage discharge planning, follow-up care, and accurate documentation of all patient care activities, including evaluations, progress notes, and summaries.
• Demonstrate effective time management, flexibility, and empathy to ensure smooth patient access to care.
• Pursue continuing education, serve as a clinical instructor, and mentor new staff, students, and volunteers.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Necessary licensure for Maryland, DC, and/or Virginia.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
