Physical Therapist, Outpatient

Full-time position, 36 hours per week. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 07:30 - 16:00. Primary outpatient care at a Rural Critical Access Hospital with a wide array of diagnoses across the age spectrum, primarily serving adolescent through elderly populations. Also includes acute and swing bed care.

Pay

Pay Range: $32.70 - $49.05 per hour.

Requirements

• B.S., M.S., or D.P.T degree from an accredited physical therapy school
• Current licensure in the applicable state
• CPR certification in Basic Life Support, Level C

Responsibilities

• Adhere to general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment through communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building
• Follow hospital and departmental policies and procedures
• Contribute to the overall quality of services and stay informed about changes in policies and procedures
• Provide patient care assessment and treatment, ensuring evaluations and treatments are comprehensive, functional, and according to the Standard of Practice
• Use sound professional judgment in interpreting evaluation results and establishing realistic treatment plans with patient goals
• Recognize and respond to changes in the patient's physiologic state and recommend the next level of care
• Ensure quality patient outcomes and supervise support staff assisting with patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, discharge notes, patient/family education, charges, and departmental statistics
• Meet department financial and productivity standards by understanding budgeted expectations and adjusting schedules as needed
• Participate in process management to optimize quality and efficiency, identifying opportunities and suggesting evidence-based best practices
• Promote professional development and education of other healthcare workers, conduct in-service training, and represent the department on committees
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, staff, and external customers in a professional and timely manner
• Provide appropriate patient care in accordance with age and developmental guidelines, demonstrating competence in age-specific care
• Provide comprehensive therapeutic patient care to ensure positive patient outcomes
• Educate patients, significant others, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of the patient care plan
• Interact with other departments and medical team members to develop and implement interdisciplinary patient care plans
• Supervise physical therapy and physical therapy assistant students to develop their clinical skills and ensure quality patient care
