Physical Therapist - Orthopedics
About the role
The Physical Therapist manages and provides skilled physical therapy to patients/clients with a wide variety of diagnoses and disabilities, taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs. Requires skills in patient/client evaluation and treatment, as well as professional consultations to achieve maximum patient/client independence in accordance with the individual functional level and potential.
Responsibilities
- Manage and provide skilled physical therapy to patients/clients with a wide variety of diagnoses and disabilities.
- Evaluate and treat patients/clients to achieve maximum independence in accordance with their functional level and potential.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Conduct assessments and document progress in accordance with established protocols.
- Provide education and guidance to patients/clients and their families regarding physical therapy techniques and home exercise programs.
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain and enhance clinical skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
- Master's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
- D.P.T. from an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
- Coursework/Training: Occasional specialized physical therapy training to meet department needs.
- Oregon Physical Therapist License upon hire.
- Washington Physical Therapist License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association License.
Qualifications
- Occasionally requires specialized physical therapy experience to meet department needs.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in computer software used for documentation and treatment planning.
