Physical Therapist – Mobile Outpatient Therapy

About the role

Powerback Rehabilitation To You allows the Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat older adults in the most functional environment—their own home (private residence or independent-living facility). The role provides a flexible schedule and work environment across various settings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards.
• Adhere to department and patient treatment schedule, timely clinical and billing documentation requirements, and work-related meetings.
• Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other related meetings.
• Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies to address the comprehensive needs of the patient.
• Consult with members of the rehabilitation team to select the most appropriate therapeutic regimen consistent with each patient’s needs and capabilities.
• Adapt program and/or plan of care according to the needs of the individual patient.
• Promote a safe environment and enforce the elimination of fire and safety hazards.
• Order supplies and equipment as necessary; clean, maintain, identify, and report the need for repair of equipment.
• Prioritize patient service, ensuring patients and families receive high-quality care in a compassionate atmosphere that recognizes individual needs and rights.
• Screen, examine, and evaluate patients, including history, systems review, and application of appropriate tests and measures.
• Synthesize information and interpret examination findings to establish a diagnosis, identify impairments, and determine the predicted level of improvement and time required.
• Identify precautions/contraindications and design a plan of care in collaboration with the patient and caregivers.
• Implement the physical therapy treatment plan and complete all related documentation and record keeping.
• Provide therapeutic techniques including:
  • Therapeutic exercise (aerobic capacity conditioning, balance coordination, agility training, body mechanics, postural stabilization, flexibility exercises, gait and locomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength, power, and endurance training).
  • Functional training.
  • Manual therapy.
  • Airway clearance techniques.
  • Integumentary repair and protection.
  • Use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent, and mechanical modalities.
• Provide health and wellness education on chronic disease management, falls assessment, and interventions to reduce fall risk.
• Perform case management in the home and community.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and/or apply adaptive devices, including orthotics and prosthetics, and train patients in their use.
• Select appropriate activities suited to the individual’s physical and mental capacity, intelligence level, and interest.
• Instruct patients in skills and techniques required for participation in mobility activities and evaluate progress, attitudes, and behavior related to rehabilitative potential.
• Perform routine reexamination as needed to modify or progress the plan of treatment.
• Incorporate health and wellness programming into treatment plans.
• Perform home and community mobility assessments and provide recommendations for safe mobility.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license eligibility.
• Master’s degree in Physical Therapy; or Master’s degree in a Physical Therapy-related field plus a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy; or Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy plus 5 years of progressively responsible PT experience.
• Qualifying Physical Therapy degree earned outside the U.S. must be evaluated to be the U.S. equivalent to a degree in Physical Therapy.
• Valid driver’s license or reliable, independent transportation to and from patients’ residences.

Pay

Salary range: USD $87,802.00 – USD $110,565.00 per year. Bonus: USD $5,000.00.
