Responsibilities
- Our Physical Therapists help patients improve their mobility, manage pain, and regain functionality following an injury, surgery, or illness
- The ideal candidate will assess patients' conditions, create personalized treatment plans, and guide them through rehabilitative exercises and therapies, and have a focus on Neuro
- Physical therapists evaluate each patient's situation by assessing their range of motion, strength, and pain levels to identify the underlying causes of their limitations
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to assess strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, posture, and muscle performance
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and clinical guidelines
- Administer manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and other modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy
- Educate patients and their families on techniques for continued recovery, injury prevention, and healthy lifestyle practices
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments as needed, and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with professional standards and regulations
- Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, athletic trainers, and other healthcare professionals
- Supervise and instruct physical therapy assistants or aides when applicable
- Ensure a safe and clean treatment environment
- Stay updated with current physical therapy practices, research, and innovations
Requirements
- Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Current and active license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state in which the job is located
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to therapy
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation standards
- Over 1 year of experience in a clinical or hospital setting is required
- Experience in a specialized area such as orthopedic, neurologic, pediatric, geriatric, or sports therapy is a plus
- Must be able to pass all necessary health requirements for hospital employment, including drug screening and background check
- Experience in Neuro is highly preferred
Physical Requirements
- The position occasionally involves frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting
- It also requires some heavy lifting of up to 20 lbs and regular pushing and pulling throughout the duration of tests
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are necessary for operating equipment
- The work environment may vary, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, or patients' homes
