About the role
The Physical Therapist Intern - Unlicensed is a current Physical Therapy student or recent graduate responsible for patient evaluation, reevaluation, treatment planning, implementation, and documentation within departmental and professional standards. Under the mentorship of a licensed PT, the intern provides effective patient care, participates in educational activities, and supports special projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist in patient assessment, treatment, and discharge planning following accreditation and ethical standards.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient records, charges, and prescriptions.
- Participate in team and family conferences as appropriate.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in a Physical Therapy program or recent graduation from an accredited school.
- Completion of prerequisite coursework and eligibility for internship through their program.
- CPR certification (BLS/NRP) from AHA or Red Cross within 90 days.
Skills
- Attention to detail with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills to become a licensed Physical Therapist.
