About the Role

Provides a full range of physical therapy services for all age groups, including assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment. Responsibilities include documenting care, coordinating patient plans with physicians and other disciplines, and contributing to program development, quality improvement, and problem-solving.

This is a full-time, day-shift position located at the Main Campus in the Inpatient Rehab Therapy department, with a $30,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions for patients of all age groups.
• Document care provided and coordinate patient plans with physicians and other disciplines.
• Contribute to program development, quality improvement, and productivity enhancement.
• Maintain an atmosphere that supports SGMC Health’s mission, vision, values, and standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of a four-year bachelor’s degree program in physical therapy (or foreign equivalent).
• Current and applicable license to practice in the state of Georgia.
• Experience working with adult and geriatric populations with physical disabilities is desired.
• Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and as a team leader.
• Strong clinical skills in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Ability to communicate clearly and care for a diverse patient population.
• CPR Certification required.
• QI credentialing required within the initial 90-day period or within 90 days of orientation to the Inpatient Rehab unit.

Working Conditions

• Works primarily in a hospital or clinical setting.
• Requires considerable standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting in excess of fifty (50) pounds.
• May involve pushing objects such as wheelchairs and beds.
• Comfortable indoor environment, but schedules may include weekends and holidays.
• May be exposed to high levels of stress and blood/body fluids, including infectious diseases.
• Uses medical equipment, computers, telecommunication devices, and patient information systems.
