Qualifications
- Education Required: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program
- Education Preferred: Master's or Doctor of Physical Therapy
- Experience Required: Clinical experience in an inpatient setting
- Experience Preferred: At least three months as an inpatient physical therapist; previous inpatient exposure as an aide or on clinical affiliation
Job Functions
- Performs and documents an initial examination, evaluating the data to identify problems and determine a working treatment plan prior to implementing interventions
- Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed treatment plan to improve or restore function, alleviate pain and enhance patient outcomes
- Reevaluates the effectiveness of treatment on an ongoing basis adjusting treatments to achieve maximum benefit
- Communicates with patients and medical practitioners regarding outcomes and expectations during the course of patient care
- Records prognosis, treatment, response and progress in electronic medical record and provides referral source with proper updates and discharge reports
- Communicates clearly to physicians, allied health professionals, nursing, and case managers as well as patients and their families
- Participates in discharge planning and staff meetings
Inpatient Physical Therapy Position Details
- This is an inpatient position at Winchester Hospital, a community hospital with 220 beds
- Seasoned clinicians and new grads encouraged to apply; mentorship available as needed

- Large orthopedic population
- 3–4 late shifts per month required to evaluate orthopedic patients (11AM–7:30 PM)
- Rotating holiday schedule; 2 weekend days required per month with comp day of your choosing
- Floating floor coverage — get experience in our 10-bed ICU, medical-surgical floors, day surgery center, and emergency department
Pay
$53.00 per hour. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, which may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
