About the Role
A Physical Therapist specializing in movement and rehabilitation, working collaboratively with inpatient teams to improve patient quality of life through hands-on care, patient education, and prescribed movement. The role involves evaluating and treating patients of all ages, including pediatric and adult populations, using a variety of therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities
- Assess and treat patients across various settings, including inpatient and emergency departments
- Develop comprehensive rehabilitation programs addressing physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs
- Coordinate discharge planning and utilize external resources to support patient independence
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Perform patient evaluations, address developmental and physical disorders, and document care using electronic charting systems
- Interpret data, coordinate care, promote patient independence, and serve as a patient advocate
- Participate in ongoing education and professional growth opportunities
Requirements
- Less than one year of experience or new graduate
- Bachelor’s degree required; Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred
- New Mexico Physical Therapy license required
- BLS certification required at hire
- Basic computer skills and understanding of clinical rules and regulations
- Knowledge of growth and development principles
- Flexibility to float to different units may be needed
