About the Role

Under clinical direction of the Chief Medical Executive and administrative supervision of the Chief Support Executive or Correctional Health Services Administrator, the Physical Therapist I administers physical therapy treatments—including active, passive, restorative, and resistive therapeutic interventions—to patients in a correctional facility. The role involves interpreting the significance of physical therapy services to patients, complying with state/federal laws and departmental policies, and maintaining safety, security, and order within the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Administer physical therapy treatments to patients in a correctional setting.
  • Provide active, passive, restorative, and resistive therapeutic interventions.
  • Interpret the purpose and benefits of physical therapy services to patients.
  • Comply with all applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and departmental policies.
  • Maintain order, supervise incarcerated individuals, and ensure the safety of persons and property.
  • Uphold security protocols for working areas and materials.

Pay

Effective July 1, 2025, salaries reflect a 3% base reduction under the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025), with 5 PLP 2025 leave credits granted monthly through June 2027. Part-time and intermittent employees are subject to prorated conditions.
