About the role

The Physical Therapist evaluates and treats injury, disease, and other health conditions. Physical Therapy includes performance and interpretation of tests and measurements to assess pathological, pathomechanical, and developmental deficits of human systems. Physical therapists help people with physical injuries or illnesses regain range of movement and control pain. They help individuals who have lost motor function due to accidents, illness, or age, determine the root causes of trauma, counsel patients, and create rehabilitation plans.

Responsibilities

• Administers patient evaluation and treatments using physical therapy modalities, procedures, and interventions
• Schedules patients
• Maintains written and verbal communication regarding patient and departmental concerns
• Submits accurate billing information
• Participates in rotations across all clinical areas
• Participates in teaching, including annual in-service to peers
• Serves as a clinical instructor for students
• Supervises Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs)
• Promotes and contributes to sanitary and housekeeping policies to maintain cleanliness and readiness of clinic and staff areas
• Participates in department quality improvement activities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy – required
• Acute care or inpatient rehabilitation experience – preferred
• Physical Therapist (PT) license – required upon hire
• Board Certification in Physical Rehabilitation (BCPR) – required upon hire
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification – required upon hire
