About the role

Under the direction of the Team or Clinic Manager, the Physical Therapist administers physical therapy in accordance with state law regarding the practice of physical therapy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

  • Administer physical therapy services in accordance with state law and department policies.
  • Assess data reflective of the patient's status and identify patient requirements based on age-specific needs.
  • Provide care as outlined in the Outpatient and Physical Therapy policies and procedures.
  • Exercise functional supervision of PTA's and support personnel during clinical activities.
  • Manage PTA's and Aides.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA-approved school required. Master’s or Doctorate degree preferred.
  • Experience: One to two years of physical therapy experience preferred. New graduates are acceptable.
  • Licensure: Licensed (temporarily or permanently) as a Physical Therapist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Permanent licensure must be completed within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Criminal Background Check: Clear by PA State Police and PA Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse Central Register (Childline).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required.
  • Driving License: Valid PA driver's license required for travel.
  • CPR Certification: Required and must be maintained.

Qualifications

The Physical Therapist must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served by his/her department – pediatric through geriatric. The Physical Therapist must also demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.

  • Knowledge of physical therapy practices and procedures.
  • Ability to assess patient data and identify age-specific needs.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Interpersonal skills for managing staff and interacting with management, staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
