Physical Therapist

About the role

A physical therapist at Sentara Therapy Center - Independence will assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs to improve functional mobility, relieve pain, and correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury. They will also provide age-appropriate education for clients and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical condition and develop treatment plans
• Implement therapeutic exercises and treatments to promote recovery
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and their families about managing their condition
• Supervise and delegate tasks to other therapy staff members

Requirements

• Current Virginia license to practice as a Physical Therapist
• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
• Passing score on the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE)
• Experience in outpatient physical therapy preferred

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Pass a background check and drug screening

• Proficient in using medical software and equipment
