About the role
A physical therapist at Sentara Therapy Center - Independence will assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs to improve functional mobility, relieve pain, and correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury. They will also provide age-appropriate education for clients and caregivers.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical condition and develop treatment plans
- Implement therapeutic exercises and treatments to promote recovery
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and their families about managing their condition
- Supervise and delegate tasks to other therapy staff members
Requirements
- Current Virginia license to practice as a Physical Therapist
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Passing score on the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE)
- Experience in outpatient physical therapy preferred
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Pass a background check and drug screening
Skills
- Proficient in using medical software and equipment
- Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and protocols
