Responsibilities
- Help the PT in all aspects of patient care
- Under the guidance of the PT, perform therapy techniques/exercises
- Measure and track patient progress, informing PT of all changes
- Provide patients with needed continued care information
- Assist the Physical Therapist in patient handling, treatment, and management
- Carry out techniques and exercises prescribed by Physical Therapist
- Keep Physical Therapist up-to-date on changes in patient progress
- Help measure and track intervention effectiveness
- Educate the patient on continuing care
Qualifications
- Valid PTA license or certification with current registration in Delaware
- Proven experience working in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy
- Familiarity with care planning processes for diverse populations such as geriatrics and pediatrics
- Hands-on experience with orthopedic rehabilitation, geriatrics, sports injuries, and acute care cases is highly desirable
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds while demonstrating compassion and professionalism
- Knowledge of discharge planning procedures and collaboration within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
