About the Role

Rehab Without Walls® is seeking an experienced Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our innovative Home & Community Neurorehabilitation Program in Walnut Creek, CA. This is a W2 PRN position offering stability, support, and flexibility while delivering outpatient-quality care directly to clients in their homes and communities.

We’re looking for a PTA who will serve as the primary therapist assistant from first treatment through discharge, with a caseload of approximately 15–20 hours per week across 3 days. This role focuses on functional rehabilitation in real-life environments, helping clients safely manage daily activities such as picking up prescriptions, returning to driving, transitioning back to work, and participating in meaningful activities like yoga and light hiking.

Our W2 PRN model provides payroll support, liability coverage, access to education and growth opportunities, and the flexibility of PRN work without sacrificing stability. You’ll collaborate with OTs, PTs, SLPs, and other specialized clinicians while enjoying the autonomy of independent practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provides physical therapy services planned, delegated, and supervised by the qualified Physical Therapist in accordance with the patient’s Plan of Treatment.
  • Confers with the Physical Therapist regularly regarding the patient’s plan of treatment, progress toward goals, and any questions or concerns.
  • Assists with cleaning and maintenance of equipment and treatment areas.
  • Reports any problems with department equipment to ensure it is maintained in good working order.
  • Communicates patient’s needs and progress to the Physical Therapist of record and assists in securing adaptive equipment to improve function.
  • Incorporates adaptive equipment to enhance the rehabilitation program.
  • Maintains and submits patient treatment and billing documentation in the required format and timelines.
  • Adheres to the Company’s Code of Conduct, policies, HIPAA, Corporate Compliance programs, and professional practice standards.
  • Attends and participates in internal staff development programs and meetings; obtains continuing education as required.
  • Maintains and enhances clinical practice skills.

Requirements

  • Current unrestricted license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice.
  • Current Basic Life Support or CPR certification, in accordance with state regulations.
  • A minimum of one year’s work experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of rehabilitation techniques related to complex neurological injury.
  • Effective and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

Pay

USD $40.00 - $45.00 per hour.
