About the Role
The Physical Therapist Assistant provides patient treatment, exercise instruction, and education to enhance well-being following a supervised plan of care.
Responsibilities
- Follow state laws and supervise PT directives, performing only qualified procedures, and recommend plan adjustments.
- Assist patients with active/passive exercises, gait, activities of daily living (ADL), transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
- Monitor, document, and report patient responses and condition changes to the supervising PT and healthcare team.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers within the scope of practice.
- Function effectively in diverse home environments, regardless of patient background.
Requirements
- Current licensure, registration, or certification to practice in the state.
- Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, or access to transportation.
- Availability for weekend rotation.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPR certification (or ability to obtain).
- Physical ability for patient mobility tasks.
