About the role

The WelbeHealth Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is an integral part of the IDT, collaborating with other members of the Rehabilitation team to implement care plans and provide direct care to participants. Under the direction of a Physical Therapist, the PTA provides restorative and rehabilitative physical therapy services to participants at the center and in their homes to maximize independence, safety, and to develop or restore function.

  • Have lower patient volumes – no more seeing 3-4 patients an hour
  • Form long-term relationships with participants rather than short-term rehab stints
  • Collaborate with other therapists, providers, and disciplines
  • Have work/life balance - no after-hours documentation

Responsibilities

  • Administer participant treatment programs as established by the Physical Therapist
  • Assist the Physical Therapist in obtaining vital signs, ranges of motion, and strength testing
  • Coordinate with other members of the Rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs based on the participants’ individual treatment plans
  • Handle scheduling of participants’ treatments, clinical visits, and billing
  • Document physical therapy interventions in accordance with established care plans including but not limited to active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional training of ADLs, and treatments (e.g., massage, heat, sound, water, light, or electricity)

Requirements

  • PTA associate’s degree from an accredited program
  • Valid PTA license, or proof of license eligibility
  • PTA knowledge necessary to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs
  • Outpatient, acute, inpatient, or skilled nursing experience (preferred)

Pay

Compensation consists of base salary plus bonus. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and relevant qualifications.

$35.87—$47.36 USD per hour

COVID-19 vaccination or a vaccine declination form is required prior to employment.
