PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT -
Patient Safety
- Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
- Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes
- Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
- Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
- Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right"
Patient Care
- Assist the Physical Therapist during patient testing, evaluations and complex procedures
- Carry out a program of corrective exercise and treatment for assigned patients, as determined by evaluation performed by Physical Therapist
- Instruct patients on segments of the program, including proper use of wheelchairs, crutches, canes, braces, and prosthetic appliances and devices
Equipment
- Obtain and return required equipment
- Maintain and care for equipment and supplies
Physical Conditions
- Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people
Qualifications
- Education: Associate Degree - Physical Therapist Assistant; Education specialization: Related Discipline
- Experience: Nonessential: No minimum experience required

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

Position Summary
Performs physical therapy procedures and related tasks. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups
