About the role

Select Specialty Hospital - Dallas Downtown (DeSoto) is a critical illness recovery hospital dedicated to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients. Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA) play a central role in providing compassionate, excellent treatment throughout the recovery process.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the implementation of the therapy plan of care under the direct supervision of a licensed PT.
• Delegates and directs supportive personnel for assigned patients to enhance patient care services.
• Communicates with supervising PT regarding scheduled patients to identify needs for assessment and reassessment, modification of treatment plans, and other interventions requiring therapist direction.
• Participates in the education of patients, families, students, coworkers, and self.
• Performs other professional duties associated with patient care within the scope of practice.

Requirements

• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant required.
• Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.
