Physical Therapist Assistant
About the Role
We are Regency Care of Rogue Valley, a skilled nursing community providing quality care to the residents we serve, located in Grants Pass, OR. We are looking for caring and compassionate resident-minded individuals to join our team as a Staff Physical Therapist Assistant. This is a professional position with primary responsibility for direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, along with assigned administrative duties.
Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, you will follow all state-specific laws governing physical therapy in-home care, adhere to the treatment plan defined by the Physical Therapist, perform only procedures you are qualified and trained for, and communicate recommendations for changes in the plan of care to the supervising Physical Therapist.
Responsibilities
- Following the plan of care, instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait training, functional activities, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
- Observe, record, and report to the supervising PT, nurse, and/or physician the patient’s response to treatment and changes in the patient’s condition.
- Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare team members in therapy techniques to assist the patient.
- Visit patients according to the Plan of Treatment and complete a daily note for each visit.
- Participate in developing the Plan of Treatment with communication to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Adhere to Therapy Standards of Practice in the provision of services to all patients.
- Report to the Physical Therapist information relating to the patient’s progress, complications, and/or response to treatment.
- Assist the Physical Therapist in performing procedures, tests, and complex treatments to ensure safe and effective evaluation and treatment of patients.

Requirements
- Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited institution.
- Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the assigned state (must be maintained).
- Ability to take direction from registered therapists and other team members to promote patient treatment and safety.
- Ability to work independently with periodic (daily or less) support and direction.
