Position Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is responsible for providing daily patient care under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role includes frequent interaction with patients and physicians, implementing treatment plans, supporting patient education, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Auxiliary in the implementation and progression of patient treatment plans
  • Conduct ongoing patient assessments and treatment plan reviews
  • Inform patients about exercises, treatment plans, and home programs
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation to support billing and compliance, including Medicare guidelines
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, and team members
  • Support facility operations including equipment maintenance and supply inventory
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and in-service education
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Physical Therapy

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Active Alaska PTA license (or ability to obtain)
  • Outpatient orthopedic experience preferred
  • New graduates welcome to apply
