Physical Therapist Assistant
About the role
As our Physical Therapist Assistant, you will help patients rebuild or maintain their physical wellbeing so they can function at their best level, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life.
To be successful in this role, you must possess strong age-appropriate competency skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care.
Responsibilities
- Administers therapeutic exercises and physical therapy modalities according to the physical therapy plan of care
- Instructs, motivates and assists patients to learn and improve functional activity, such as pre‐ambulation, transfer, ambulation and daily living activities
- Observes patients during treatments, assesses, and compiles data on patients’ responses to treatments and progress and reports verbally or in writing to the physical therapist; may communicate updates to physicians
- Fits patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, walkers and wheelchairs
- May perform clerical duties
- Promotes and supports positive and professional customer service, while interacting with clients, guests and hospital personnel. Works collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary team, other departments and disciplines to assure patients and customer’s needs are met in a timely manner. Encourages the active participation of the patient and/or family in goal setting and patient/family training/education
Requirements
Associates Other Physical Therapist Assistants and Graduates eligible for licensure will be considered, upon hire
Physical Therapy Assistant: TX, upon hire and
Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program
Current CPR certification
Current license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Texas
Skills
Strong age-appropriate competency skills

Pay
The posted compensation range of $24.88 - $37.00 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
Schedule
Hours/Pay Period: 80
Weekly Schedule: M-F 8-4:30; alternating weekends & major holidays
