Physical Therapist Assistant
About the role
The Physical Therapist Assistant provides services to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries and disease under the direction of the Physical Therapist. The PTA adheres to the therapy plan of treatment for a caseload of home health patients in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary team (IDT). Works with the Physical Therapist and patient physician to maintain a treatment plan using a variety of methods, including exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease pain and help increase mobility and endurance.
The PTA will establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients, including providing community support for resources and education, document the goals and outcomes of care, and brings experience and passion in working in an environment that follows AuthoraCare core values of humanity, compassion, empowerment, and excellence as well as inclusion of all team members, patients, and caregivers.
Schedule
Full-Time: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm
Responsibilities
- Deliver therapy services under the direction of a Physical Therapist
- Implement and monitor the therapy plan of treatment for home health patients
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (IDT) to coordinate care
- Use exercises, stretching, hands-on therapy, and equipment to improve patient mobility and endurance
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients
- Provide community support and education resources to patients
- Document goals and outcomes of care
