About the role
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) position at Americare Home Health Solutions involves providing intermittent services in a patient's place of residence under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). The PTA will work closely with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical condition and needs, and document findings in the patient's medical record.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the patient's plan of care and the direction of the licensed PT.
- Perform therapeutic exercises and treatments to improve patients' mobility, strength, and function.
- Collaborate with the patient, family members, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Document all patient interactions, treatments, and progress in the patient's medical record.
- Communicate regularly with the supervising licensed PT to report on patient progress and address any concerns.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
- Licensed PTA by the State of Missouri.
- At least one year of clinical experience as a PTA.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance.
Qualifications
Must possess excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must also be able to adapt to various patient situations and environments.
Skills
- Proficient in using medical equipment and devices relevant to physical therapy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
- Good interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and their families.
Pay
Wages range from $45-$65 per visit plus mileage reimbursement.
