About the role
The Physical Therapist supports movement, enables access, and empowers students in educational settings. This role involves evaluating, planning, and providing physical therapy services, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with school teams, families, and related service providers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct physical therapy evaluations and assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on medical referrals
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students
- Address mobility, strength, balance, posture, and functional movement needs
- Maintain required documentation, treatment notes, and progress reports
- Collaborate with school teams, families, and related service providers
- Oversee and instruct assigned support staff
- Perform related work as required
Requirements
- New York State licensed or license-eligible Physical Therapist
- Strong evaluation, clinical decision-making, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently across multiple school sites
- Commitment to supporting students within educational environments
- Clear communication and collaborative skills
- Must have NYS Physical Therapist license and no lifting restrictions
Qualifications
- Must meet the requirements of the Ontario County Civil Service
