About the role
The Physical Test Technician conducts physical tests on materials, components, or products to evaluate their quality, performance, and compliance with specifications. The role involves using various testing equipment, accurately recording data, and maintaining a safe laboratory environment, often following established testing procedures and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Execute test methods in a laboratory setting.
- Perform physical testing of consumer products using automated laboratory equipment and manual techniques.
- Prepare precise measurements of materials using various apparatus.
- Prepare test samples.
- Enter data using MS Excel, record data points in tracking system, and maintain accurate data records.
- Adhere to all safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform other essential tasks, projects, and responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in a science or engineering-related field of study or 1–2 years of experience in a science or mechanical role using hand tools.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn new software.
- Ability to work with and smell fragrances.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in consumer products, pharmaceuticals, personal care, and/or food and beverage industries.
- Experience working in an FDA/cGMP regulated environment.
Pay
$17–$18 an hour.
Schedule
Typically Monday through Friday, forty hours per week. Must be flexible to meet departmental needs and complete other projects as assigned.
