Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical, signals, and technical surveillance operations to detect and identify potential security threats.
  • Utilize various surveillance techniques, including foot, vehicle, and technical surveillance.
  • Install, maintain, and operate technical surveillance equipment.
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential indicators of security risks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information, facilities, and equipment.
  • Observe and document activities accurately and discreetly, including preparing clear, concise reports and detailed surveillance logs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and track security incidents.
  • Provide training and support to team members on surveillance procedures, methodologies, and equipment usage.
  • Stay current with advancing technologies and techniques in technical surveillance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to remain informed on emerging threats and relevant new technologies.

Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to identify issues, analyze information, and develop timely solutions.
  • Ability to think critically and adapt to dynamic or unpredictable environments.
  • 4+ years of experience in cyber operations, technical operations, or a related computer science or engineering field.
  • Experience with data analysis and interpretation, particularly in signal processing and pattern recognition.
  • Surveillance photography including lowlight exposures and long lens operations (600mm or more).
  • Installing covert surveillances devices in vehicles.
  • Solid understanding of operational planning, risk management, and threat assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred (electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related field).
  • Ability to drive safely, employ defensive driving techniques, and reduce the chance of detection while conducting mobile operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial telecommunications protocols and visual surveillance systems, including system design and deployment.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning.
  • Tech or cyber operations certification from a relevant government entity, or other accredited security-related certifications.
  • Experience working in high-stakes, fast-paced environments (government, military, private investigation, security), particularly in surveillance-related roles.
  • Familiarity with laws and regulations governing surveillance and privacy, including foreign lawful intercept capabilities.
  • Ability to operate manual-transmission vehicles.
  • Successfully completed one or more of the following training courses (JCITA-CSC, SBSC, NLES).

Work Environment

  • Work settings vary and may include office environments, on-foot surveillance, mobile surveillance in vehicles, or static observation posts.
  • Requires extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking while maintaining high levels of alertness.
  • Must be able to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Travel required approximately 20% or more.
  • Position will require travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
