Physical Support Staff

Daily Responsibilities
- Respond to situations that may include physical aggression by providing physical support utilizing crisis procedures identified by Board Certified Behavior Analysts and developed by the Marcus Crisis Prevention Program
- Maintain hypervigilance during the school day in order to provide redirection and other behavioral interventions to individuals in crisis
- Respond to noncrisis scenarios throughout the school day
- To assist students with daily activities such as toileting and additional hygiene routines
- Demonstrate and perform as an effective adult role model for the students we support
- Aid in creating a physical environment that lends to progress
- Participate in mandatory trainings and refreshers
- Provide support to all classrooms when necessary
- Help maintain a clean and orderly work environment by assisting in cleaning and organizing protective equipment (mats, wedges, helmets, etc.)
Job Requirements
- A minimum of a high school diploma
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- BCI & FBI background check
- Reliable Transportation
- Ability to work full-time in alignment with our school calendar
- Obtain and maintain Marcus Crisis Prevention Program certification (completed once hired)
Physical Demands
- Ability to participate in physical interventions, when necessary, and with fidelity to the methods taught through our training model
- Physical interventions may require intense physical exertion
- Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: kneeling, possibly for extended periods of time on hard surfaces, bending, twisting, and holding
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. regularly
- Risk of exposure to bodily fluids
