Physical Security Technical Project Manager

About the role
As a Technical Project Manager, you will support security design and installation projects across North, South, and Central America, including new sites, expansions, post-occupancy projects, and technology upgrades. You will manage all aspects of project delivery, collaborate with key stakeholders, and oversee multiple projects and scopes of work. Responsibilities
- Project Management:
- Identify project schedule, scope parameters, and oversee security design and implementation per client requirements and standards.
- Manage early project initiation activities and develop project security scope, schedule, critical deliverables, and requirements.
- Manage scheduling, status, and tracking of critical project tasks, issues, and deliverables.
- Assist with the bid and award process. Review bid leveling documentation and provide feedback on award recommendations.
- Evaluate SOW responses and prepare evaluation reports, including criteria, scoring, and recommendation details.
- Design:
- Perform security site evaluations of potential client properties and review proposed design concepts.
- Apply client system design standards to in-progress site designs, collaborate with stakeholders to define use cases, and produce security functional specifications.
- Review security system design documentation for compliance with published requirements, technical standards, and installation standards.
- Review VAR requests for equipment substitutions and scope variances and provide recommendations for approval.
- Redline documentation with corrections and log issues as required.
- Client Relationship:
- Keep clients informed of project status, including budget, schedule, risks, issues, and successes.
- Manage client expectations around project design through clear communication.
- Collaboration:
- Serve as the primary security point of contact for project teams and stakeholders.
- Attend regular project design, management, OAC, and construction meetings.
- Manage site activation activities to drive schedule, quality, and cost.
- Coordinate with other trades (Contractor, Electrical, IT, etc.) to complete the project.
- Documentation:
- Produce project status and issues reports and meet with stakeholders weekly to resolve high-priority issues.
- Log issue resolutions that constitute exceptions to client security requirements.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct on-site inspections during construction and installation and final acceptance testing.
- Manage project lessons learned, site metrics evaluation, and contractor performance evaluations.
- Review security system design documentation for compliance with published requirements and standards.
- Oversee delivery of all shop drawings and close-out documentation from the integrator/contractor.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of project management experience, with significant tenure as a consultant, integrator, or technical end user.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge:
- Detailed knowledge of access control system hardware, wiring standards/practices, installation methods, and programming.
- Experience working on corporate office core/shell and tenant fit-out projects is preferred.
- Skills:
- Basic knowledge of Lenel OnGuard, with experience in monitoring functions and simple programming changes (certification in S2 or Lenel preferred).
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, or other design tools is a plus.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, SharePoint, and QuickBase.
- Abilities:
- Demonstrated excellence in communicating and presenting complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to follow and implement client design and installation standards and advocate for them with external teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, from small moves/adds/changes to large new site construction projects.

Schedule
- Embedded position with a minimum of 3 days/week in-office (Sunnyvale, CA).
- Up to 20% international travel required.
This position requires U.S. citizenship due to legal restrictions. Candidates must meet client and/or government security screening requirements. A background check is required upon hire and every two years thereafter.
