Physical Security Specialist
About the role
Safeguarding organizational security is at the core of this role. The Security Specialist supports and administers organizational security plans and operations, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Administers physical protection measures for personnel and company property, including day-to-day damage, vandalism, loss prevention, and other security risks.
- Executes procedures and processes to compile data for loss control and accident reports.
- Supports and conducts internal investigations in accordance with legal requirements and company policies.
- Collaborates with local police and emergency agencies as necessary.
- Maintains records, manuals, and documentation related to security operations.
- For companies with government contracts, coordinates and administers security clearances and other security policies and procedures in line with Department of Defense or relevant agency guidelines.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2+ years of experience in a similar role. Knowledge of security protocols, familiarity with regulatory standards, and strong analytical skills are essential.
Qualifications
This position requires a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Physical demands include standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and basic computer literacy are also required.
