About the Role
This position supports duties related to documenting and coordinating activities for inventory management, operating and familiarity with the Genetec software and all system components deployed (FACS) for Physical Security.
Responsibilities
- Manage, process, and account for all equipment, devices, material, and parts associated with the implementation for buildings and facilities.
- Work directly with the Distribution Center staff and keep them apprised of pending orders.
- Perform semiannual inventory assessments to ensure all devices, equipment, and material are properly accounted for; submit assessment reports to Security Management for review.
- Manage safety stock requirements.
- Generate and submit scheduled reports (weekly/monthly) to NCDOT Security Management, including:
- Material received during report term (inbound)
- Material picked up for surplus report term (outbound)
- Material returned to manufacturer (RMA) report term (outbound)
- Material returned to inventory from manufacturer (RMA) report term (inbound)
- Material issued to security vendor for incidents or installation report terms (outbound)
- Current inventory levels by part number
- Ensure material is invoiced upon arrival.
- Coordinate and verify scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs).
- Identify devices nearing end-of-life and arrange for replacement.
- Manage badging supplies and restocking responsibilities.
- Handle quotes and invoices related to inventory.
- Oversee the surplus process and adhere to NC State Surplus procedures.
- Ensure retired servers are discarded in accordance with Information Security Office procedures.
- Support the Security Operations Center (SOC) with basic system configurations.
- Assist the SOC team and vendor partner with troubleshooting installation and operating issues.
- Perform monthly device testing of selected buildings and facilities; document and secure findings.
- Assist in creating documentation detailing information and design for new building construction, implementations, and requests for additional devices.
- Manage situations involving device removal due to building alterations, replacement, temporary removal, factory recall, or other reasons; brief IT-EMS as needed.
- Submit, request, and track incidents in accordance with standards established by IT-EMS.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in physical security with knowledge of access control, surveillance, and related security systems.
- 3+ years of experience troubleshooting security devices and working with the Genetec Security Center platform and associated software.
- 3+ years of experience installing and servicing IP cameras, CCTV systems, and card readers.
- 3+ years of experience creating and maintaining documentation, including tracking receipt, inventory, and deployment of security devices and equipment.
- 3+ years of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint).
- 3+ years of experience using ServiceNow for incident management, service requests, and asset tracking.
- 3+ years of experience demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 3+ years of experience identifying and resolving issues related to device failures, inventory discrepancies, and delivery delays.
- 3+ years of experience developing, documenting, and maintaining operational policies and standard operating procedures related to physical security and inventory management.
