Responsibilities
- Identify, screen, and recruit wounded service members for quarterly virtual and in-person Physical Health & Wellness (PH&W) events and coaching programs
- Plan and execute multiday PH&W coaching program kickoff events, providing fitness, nutrition, mobility, sleep, and health-focused education with limited supervision
- Create individualized coaching programs to help warriors achieve their physical health and wellness goals
- Manage warrior participation throughout 90-day coaching programs, offering encouragement, support, and resource connections via regular coaching sessions (telephone or Teams)
- Provide instruction, guidance, and coaching using motivational interviewing skills to encourage behavior change and support progress toward health-focused SMART goals
- Develop and execute in-person events, virtual education, competitions, and wellness challenges for warriors and their families
- Facilitate virtual programming content via Teams, Facebook Live, and other technology platforms
- Collaborate with PH&W teammates to create new, innovative content and curriculum
- Identify and recommend new programming opportunities to increase overall impact
- Learn and implement various modalities, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), for events and follow-up
- Establish and maintain community relationships to build an ecosystem of PH&W support for warriors
- Collaborate with multiple WWP departments and stakeholders to deliver programming and services
- Conduct public speaking to raise awareness of PH&W programming and promote healthy lifestyles
- Maintain budgets for PH&W programming within assigned regions
- Manage information in systems like Salesforce, ensuring data accuracy and security
- Utilize validated metrics to meet strategic outcomes and key performance indicators
- Manage multiple tasks and assignments in a fast-paced, innovative environment
- Participate in workgroups for special projects and programming initiatives
- Assist with onboarding and training new teammates as needed
- Attend and actively participate in required training and meetings (e.g., New Teammate Orientation, WWP Cares, ASIST Suicide Prevention, leadership training)
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, human performance, or a related health science field
- Four years of experience in the fitness industry, allied health, health management, wellness coaching, strength and conditioning, or personal/athletic training
- Two years of experience with longitudinal plan design, teaching, guiding, and coaching in fitness, nutrition, wellness, or athletics
- Valid state-issued driver’s license
- CPR-First Aid certification
- Ability to obtain ASIST Certification within one year of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, human performance, or a related health science field
- Two years of experience working with wounded service members dealing with health issues and invisible injuries
- One year of event planning experience
- One year of experience with customer relationship management (e.g., Salesforce) or event management systems (e.g., CVENT)
- Personal Training certification (ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA), Strength and Conditioning certification (CSCS), or related fitness certification
- Wellness coaching certification
- ASIST Certification

Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Participation in physically demanding activities (e.g., workouts, hiking, cooking classes) in varying conditions (indoor, outdoor, virtual)
- Lodging in various environments (e.g., hotels, cabins)
- Up to 50% travel
