The Northport School Department is looking to hire a .4 FTE Phys. Ed. Teacher.
About the role
The Edna Drinkwater School has approximately 120 students in Grades Pre-K - 8th. The position is based in Northport, which sits on Penobscot between Belfast and Camden.
Responsibilities
- Teach physical education classes to students in Grades Pre-K - 8th
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Maine Learning Results
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student learning
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field
- Valid Maine teaching license
- Experience working with children in a school setting preferred
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Passion for promoting physical activity and health
Skills
- Knowledge of current physical education pedagogy
- Ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse student needs
- Proficiency in using technology for instructional purposes
