Phys Asst Hospitalist
About the role
The role involves managing a predictable 16-18 patient census, working closely with supervising physicians to provide focused inpatient care. The position requires a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with an active Texas license, strong clinical skills in inpatient medicine, excellent communication, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Manage a predictable 16-18 patient census, working closely with supervising physicians.
- Conduct comprehensive patient admissions, discharges, and daily rounds.
- Collaborate closely with Hospitalist Physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide focused inpatient care, including comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis, and management (under physician supervision).
- Effectively interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a hospital setting.
- Adapt to a structured 7-on/7-off schedule.
- Commit to providing high-quality, compassionate care and ensuring patient satisfaction within a rapid response team supported model.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Board certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
- Active or eligible license in the state of Texas.
- Strong clinical skills in inpatient medicine, including comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis, and management (under physician supervision).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a hospital setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented Hospitalist environment, adapting to a structured 7-on/7-off schedule.
- A commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care and ensuring patient satisfaction within a rapid response team supported model.
- DEA registration or eligibility for registration.

Pay Range
The posted compensation range of $123,178 - $136,864 /year is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
