About the role
The Photographer/Graphic Designer will plan and organize technical photographic coverage for various events and developments, implement NGA objectives, and provide graphic design services.
Responsibilities
- Plan and organize technical photographic coverage for events and developments.
- Implement NGA objectives within the capabilities and limitations of cameras and equipment.
- Improvise photographic and video methods and techniques or select and alter secondary features of photographic features.
- Create and deliver original graphic design products, assist with staging actions, suggest behavior of principals, and rehearse activities before photographs are taken.
- Provide high quality, professional digital photography, including both portrait and on-scene photography using a Nikon Digital camera system and Adobe Creative Suite / Creative Cloud software on Windows platform.
- Provide limited video coverage and capture with editing according to customer requests.
- Write proper caption writing techniques for all photographs.
- Load all photos into a server with proper meta-data tags and captions and remove all meta-data from photographs before they are approved for public release.
- Design products for printing on digital presses and large format printers.
- Enter work order details to a web-based tracking system.
- Provide design and layout support, text processing, page markup, graphic scanning, large and small format printing, sign marking, engraving, mounting & laminating, and any other creative design support for cover designs, logos, coins, etc.
- Video production will be directed and reviewed by the Video Lead for composition and technical accuracy along with meeting the requirements.
- Graphical products will be reviewed by the Graphic Design Lead to ensure there are no grammatical, typographical or compositional errors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in photography.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in video production.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in graphic design.
- Experience with creating/designing digital signage, web graphics, engravings (on brass, glass, plastic and wood), handouts including fact sheets, flyers, newsletters, and similar as well as experience staging historical displays and exhibits.
- Experience with publications and PowerPoint visualizations.
Qualifications
- Must possess an active Top Secret clearance.
- US Citizenship is required for a Secret clearance at this location.
Skills
- Proficiency with Nikon Digital camera system and Adobe Creative Suite / Creative Cloud software.
- Experience with video production and editing.
- Ability to design and layout products for printing.
- Knowledge of publications and PowerPoint visualizations.
