About the Role

The Photographer is responsible for producing clear, dynamic photos according to specifications, both in-studio and on location. This role involves setting up equipment, directing models and subjects, and digitally retouching images to create compelling visual content.

Responsibilities

  • Capture compelling photographs with exceptional creativity that exceed industry standards and expectations (both in studio and on location).
  • Maintain relationships with clients, team members, models, stylists, and assistants.
  • Collaborate with marketing, design, videography, and other cross-functional teams to accomplish projects.
  • Perform standard photography procedures, including photo editing methods, tools, brand standards, techniques, processes, and guidelines set by management.
  • Communicate effectively with photography requestors and other photographers to ensure studio output meets production deadlines.
  • Manage digital assets (DAM), including archiving and organizing files.
  • Assist in maintaining the photography studio, equipment, and creative department organization.
  • Utilize up-to-date knowledge of industry trends to review and update already produced content, removing outdated inconsistencies.
  • Arrange products, props, scenes, backgrounds, and lighting to adhere to specifications.
  • Drive continuous improvement and creative solutions in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in photography, commercial photography, or related area, or equivalent experience (3+ years).
  • Knowledge of professional equipment, including DSLR/mirrorless cameras/lenses, lighting techniques (studio and natural lighting, and the ability to mix both), working with professional models, and operating in a photography studio.
  • Preferred proficiency in photographing and editing for e-commerce/website listings.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge, Substance).
  • Ability to retouch a wide range of content, including composites, textures, and lighting.
  • Experience working on Apple Mac computers.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Basic social media skills (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube).
  • Strong digital asset management (DAM) skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to take constructive feedback.
  • Creative with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift approximately 40 lbs.
  • A strong photography portfolio must be provided.
