About the role
The Photographer / Graphic Designer at Wilmar LLC is responsible for creating high-quality visual content for various marketing and communication needs. This position requires a combination of product and lifestyle photography, image editing, graphic design, and digital asset management.
Responsibilities
- Photography: Plan, stage, light, and photograph products for packaging, catalogs, e-commerce, advertising, social media, and sales materials.
- Image Production: Produce consistent product and lifestyle images, including multiple angles, close-ups, feature details, scale references, and in-use photography.
- Product Preparation: Prepare products, props, backgrounds, and sets for studio and on-location photo shoots.
- Image Editing: Perform image selection, color correction, retouching, clipping paths, compositing, and background removal.
- Accuracy: Ensure product colors, finishes, proportions, and features are represented accurately.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain photography equipment, studio areas, props, product samples, and established photography standards.
- Graphic Design: Create layouts and graphics for product packaging, sell sheets, catalogs, advertisements, presentations, trade shows, websites, social media, and e-commerce platforms.
- File Preparation: Develop product callouts, comparison graphics, infographics, icons, banners, and other supporting visual content.
- Production Standards: Prepare accurate, production-ready files for print, packaging, and digital applications.
- Brand Compliance: Follow brand standards and review materials for image quality, typography, dimensions, specifications, and overall consistency.
- Revisions: Complete revisions based on stakeholder feedback while meeting project deadlines.
- Project Management: Manage multiple photography and design projects from concept through final delivery.
- Asset Management: Maintain organized file structures, naming conventions, metadata, version control, and image records.
- Asset Upload: Upload, manage, and archive approved assets within digital asset management and product information systems.
- Tracking: Track project priorities, approvals, and deadlines.
- Trends Awareness: Stay current with photography, graphic design, packaging, e-commerce, and social media trends.
- Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in photography, graphic design, visual communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience: Two or more years of relevant professional experience.
- Portfolio: Strong portfolio demonstrating product photography, graphic design, and image-retouching skills.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat.
- Camera Experience: Experience with DSLR or mirrorless cameras and professional studio-lighting equipment.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of composition, lighting, color, typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
- Printing Experience: Experience preparing files for commercial printing and digital distribution.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail, organization, time management, and proofreading skills.
- Collaboration: Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, accept feedback, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with technical products like tools, automotive, hardware, or equipment.
- Experience with Amazon, retailer websites, social media, and e-commerce platforms.
- Experience with digital asset management or product information management systems.
- Experience photographing reflective surfaces, detailed products, and large or complex items.
- Video Production: Video production and editing experience is a plus.
