Phoenix - Open Pit Tire Technician

About the Role

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Open Pit Tire Technician to join the Maintenance Team at the Phoenix mine site.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all tires on mine equipment, including passenger light vehicles and all off-road vehicles
• Maintain correct air pressures and tread depths
• Inspect and remove worn or failed tires and install replacement tires
• Repair all repairable tires
• Complete routine maintenance activities to ensure the availability and safe functioning of large mining and support equipment fleets
• Maintain shop areas, tools, and service vehicles to ensure a clean and safe work environment
• Perform daily pre-shift work inspections and participate in individual and group hazard identification processes
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Two or more years of experience in maintenance of mobile, farm, trucking, aircraft, military, or support equipment preferred
• Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics required
• Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision required
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people required
• Experience handling tires preferred
• Ability to accomplish strenuous physical labor under all weather conditions required
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Proven safe work record with belief and value in a courageous leadership model required
• Ability to be an initial team member in a growing, fast-paced environment and support the team in attaining safety, environmental, equipment protection, and production goals with a proven safety record required
• High standard of housekeeping required
• Good written and verbal communication skills required
