Phlebotomy Technician

About the role

Cleveland Clinic Lakewood Family Health Center seeks to enhance healthcare services in Lakewood by focusing on quality care, service excellence, educational programs, and community involvement. As essential members of the medical laboratory team, Phlebotomy Technicians are responsible for accurately and efficiently collecting blood samples from patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collection procedures, following venipuncture procedures and maintaining appropriate log sheets.
• Verify order requests and identify necessary information before drawing blood or collecting specimens.
• Label all specimens collected and transport them to the appropriate processing area.
• Process specimens, including accessioning, centrifugation, and packaging, and send out tasks as needed.
• Pick up and deliver blood, other samples, and lab supplies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Phlebotomy Technician experience
• Technical proficiency with standard procedures, techniques, and common practices
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a team environment

Qualifications

• Formal Phlebotomy Certification
• Graduate of an accredited phlebotomy program with a clinical rotation/externship
• Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment
• Ability to work under minimal supervision

Pay

Pay Range: Minimum hourly: $17.95, Maximum hourly: $25.50
