About the role

The Phlebotomy Support Technician position at Cox Medical Center Branson is responsible for the collection and processing of blood and other specimens as directed. This includes confirming patient ID, collecting specimens in proper tubes, utilizing venipuncture/capillary techniques, and accurately labeling specimens to ensure accurate patient results. Specimens are processed appropriately for subsequent testing, and accessions, updates, and order corrections are made as necessary.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 3 months phlebotomy experience in a laboratory setting
• Required: Certified as a Phlebotomy Technician or Medical Laboratory Assistant from a nationally recognized laboratory certifying agency
• Phlebotomy Support Tech II must provide an updated certification within 30 days of the expiration date of their certificate if they have not applied for renewal
