Essential Job Functions
- Schedules blood drawing services to ensure appropriate staffing and efficient workflow.
- Mentors and trains phlebotomy staff to promote quality and accuracy of services and patient safety.
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs) for phlebotomy processes.
- Implements and oversees quality improvement initiatives for phlebotomy services.
- Maintains inventory of phlebotomy supplies to ensure uninterrupted services and efficient workflow.
- Collaborates with laboratory personnel and other healthcare professionals to improve processes and enhance service quality.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years clinical experience in a high complexity laboratory.
- BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
- Current Phlebotomy certification from one of the following agencies: ASCP, ORASPT, or NHA.
- Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant or Medical Laboratory Assistant by ASCP or AMT is acceptable.
- Current Licensed Advanced EMT/Paramedic or Certified MT/MLT (ASCP, AMT).
