Phlebotomy Float

About the role

Labcorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to join our team in Irvine, CA, covering locations including Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, and the surrounding Irvine area. Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Handle administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• California state-issued Phlebotomy license (CPT)
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Ability to work in fast-paced/high-volume work environments
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• At least 21 years of age
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a phlebotomist
• Current or prior experience at LabCorp

Schedule

Able to cover varying hours Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, with additional days/hours as needed, including some Saturdays.

Pay

Pay Range: $21.00–$33.00 per hour. Float Incentive: Additional $1.50 per hour plus mileage reimbursement. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7-on/7-off schedule are eligible for all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
