PHLEBOTOMIST (TEMPORARY SUMMER)

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens using proper techniques, ensuring accurate labeling, handling, and documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment, adhering to safety and infection control protocols.
• Verify patient information, provide exceptional care, and collaborate with healthcare professionals for timely specimen collection.
• Absorb and assist with additional tasks as needed, all while maintaining a professional and personable demeanor.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of infection control protocols and safety measures
• Intermediate computer skills for data entry and record keeping

Education Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program

License/Certification Requirements

• A national phlebotomy certification or equivalent is preferred

Special Requirements

• Weekends and Holidays are required
