Phlebotomist PRN
Job Summary
The Phlebotomist performs blood draws on patients who need diagnostic testing. The Phlebotomist is supervised by and works with the RNs to achieve timely pre-procedure blood draws and testing.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of physiology and function of the venous system of the human body, and collection techniques used to draw blood from patients.
- Collects blood samples from patients per laboratory policy and procedure.
- Decides the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient.
- Patient identification.
- Labels blood vials according to established procedures including use of automated patient identification systems.
