Qualifications
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification by a nationally recognized body (ASCP preferred).
- Knowledge of commonly collecting devices, anatomy concepts, best practice collections, and disinfection procedures.
- Been deemed competent to work independently.
- Knowledgeable to maintain Worklist & keep up with order timeline, the quick receipt to specimens into the lab system, attesting to the patient identification / tube accuracy & general knowledge of the corrects tubes needs plus the order of draw.
- Follows instructions & is self-sufficient once deemed competent.
- Possesses team-mindedness, is an excellent lab ambassador when outside the lab & very cooperative to nursing staff.
