Phlebotomist Laboratory Assistant I
About the role
The Lab Assistant I position at IU Health's North Hospital Outpatient Phlebotomy Lab is a full-time, days shift (M-F 5:45AM-2:15PM, every 3rd Saturday 7:00AM-1:00PM) located in Carmel, IN.
Responsibilities
- Provides general laboratory services including specimen collection, order entry, blood component preparation, pre-analytic processing of specimens as well as related clerical tasks.
- May be responsible for patient and specimen registration and delivery of specimens.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program with experience in laboratory or coursework in biological, chemical or related science preferred.
- Valid Indiana operator’s license and a good driving history for the last three years.
- Understanding of Indiana traffic laws.
- Working knowledge of computers.
- Telephone skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member.
- Able to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.

- May require an understanding of the traffic laws in the State of Indiana.
