Exemption Status: Non‑Exempt

Hiring Range: $16.60 – $29.88 (based on a full‑time schedule of 40 hours per week). Final offer will vary based on scheduled hours. Compensation for part‑time or reduced schedules will be prorated based on weekly hours, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

A signing bonus may be available; eligibility will be confirmed by a member of the Recruitment Team during the interview process.

Schedule

Holidays: Every other holiday

Work days: Monday through Friday

Weekends: Saturday and Sunday

Shift: Mixed Shift, 8 hours (Shift 4)

Scheduled hours may include days, evenings, or nights to provide coverage for open positions.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary from patients.
• Perform EKG, pulse oximetry, and point‑of‑care testing on inpatients and outpatients as required.
• Review physician requisitions and orders to ensure appropriate tests are drawn and meet Medical Necessity guidelines.
• Prepare Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) for tests that do not meet Medical Necessity guidelines and obtain required signatures from patient and staff.
• Perform quality control and maintenance of instrumentation for EKG, pulse oximetry, and point‑of‑care testing.
• Process specimens including centrifugation, pour‑off, aliquoting, labeling, and packaging.
• Provide essential patient data and insurance information for registration of specimens.
• Create registration for outreach specimens in the Hospital Admission/Discharge/Transfer (ADT) system as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with successful completion of a recognized phlebotomy training program or documented phlebotomy experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of employment and maintenance of annual BLS competencies.
• Flexibility to work and travel to other locations and campuses as needed.
